Young saffron gatherer

Female form, wall painting replica from Akrotiri excavation. Ancient Greek painting. Greece, Santorini 17th century BC.
Copy detail from fresco, found in the prehistoric settlement of Akrotiri on Santorini island. The whole wall painting depicts two women that gather saffron from a hill. This fragment is the replica of the one on the right side. Τhe blue color on the head indicates that is shaved. The shaved head is typical of the age. Younger people had the biggest part shaven.
We create it in many different sizes and prices. Please feel free to contact us for more details.
